Important Reminders
Contact your employer before your placement starts. Confirm key details such as:
- Start and finish times
- Dress code/uniform
- Your job role and duties
Work Experience Booklet
Every student has received a work experience booklet. This must be completed throughout the week and returned to school on Monday 19th May. The reflections and questions in the booklet are a vital part of your learning and will help with:
- Preparing for interviews for sixth form, college or apprenticeships
- Documenting your experiences for future reference

If you’re unwell
If you’re sick during your placement, you must contact both:
- Your employer
- The school absence line (as you normally would) - 01254 819500 then option 1.
If you do not attend your placement and fail to inform both parties, it will be marked as an unauthorised absence.
If your placement ends early
If your placement ends unexpectedly (e.g. employer illness or emergency closure), you must return to school the next working day. A support timetable will be provided.
- Sign in at reception by 9:00am
- If your return falls on a Monday or Thursday, please wear your PE kit – there will be one hour of PE.
