We encourage all Sixth Formers to stretch and challenge themselves academically and personally.
We provide a range of extra qualifications and experiences to allow students to further themselves in preparation for university and/or employment.
East Lancashire Scholars
A partnership between Lancaster University and the Villiers Park Educational Trust to help academically able students from disadvantaged backgrounds to aspire to join leading universities.
IGGY
A social network site developed by the University of Warwick specifically for able and talented young people.
The Future Oxbridge Scholar’s Programme
A full programme to assist academically-talented students interested in applying to Oxford or Cambridge Universities. This provides a range of stretch and challenge activities to assist students in developing the intellectual, practical and personal skills and knowledge they will need to be accepted for an Oxbridge college.
Session 6
Students looking to improve upon their current performance and grades can attend weekly additional classes from 3.30pm - 5.00pm to help consolidate their understanding of subjects and extend their knowledge of specific topics.
Extended Project Qualification
A free standing qualification highly valued by universities. It is worth up to 28 UCAS points and is equivalent to half an A Level. The EPQ provides students with the opportunity to develop an individual research paper with one-to-one support from a member of staff.
