Darwen Aldridge Community Academy is a Centre of Excellence for entrepreneurial education. It is an inclusive school that provides for the students and citizens of Darwen continuous opportunities, and a world-class, high-quality environment for lifelong learning. The Academy’s students are committed, successful learners, who are proud, creative and self-confident, showing respect for themselves, the community and for others. Darwen Aldridge Community Academy is an 11-18 academy situated in the heart of Darwen.
The Academy seeks to develop a passion for learning and an enterprising spirit amongst its students and staff, and amongst members of the local community. In addition, it seeks to create, develop and maintain an education that focuses emphatically on providing opportunities for success for all, recognising and celebrating the achievements of everyone in all aspects of life at the Academy.

Aldridge Education is a charitable Trust of entrepreneurial community schools and colleges that help young people to reach their potential. We support our schools’ Principals and teachers in rapidly improving the quality of education on offer at early years, primary, secondary and sixth-form levels in order to transform the life-chances of our students.

Academic Vacancies
Assistant SENCO
We require an Assistant SENCO to be part of our growing Learning Support Faculty. The successful candidate will have an ability to lead on certain key areas within SEND. The nature of these duties are dependent upon the skills of the successful person and in negotiation with the Director of Learning Support (SENCO).
As part of an on-going review of monitoring of student progress, you have three core roles within the faculty:
You are to carry out the professional duties of a schoolteacher as set out in the current School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document. All colleagues are expected to demonstrate a wholehearted commitment to the development of the faculty and a willingness to assist the Faculty Director of Learning in preparing for, and adapting to, the changing needs of the Faculty.

Attendance Officer
We are seeking to appoint an Attendance Officer at Darwen Aldridge Community Academy. The aim of the role is to support the Attendance Lead providing a high standard of administrative support to the Attendance Lead and Attendance Service. You will implement a vision for excellence by providing a level of service to all stakeholders based on high standards. Enabling teachers to teach and students to learn.

Cover Supervisor
We are seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to provide good quality regular cover of whole classes for short term absence and to provide support to students to promote effective participation, enhance individual learning, raise aspirations and achieve their full potential.
The successful Cover Supervisor will be required for 37 hours per week. Term Time plus INSET days.
Responsibilities include covering lessons when staff are absent, ensuring behaviour policies are followed and students are completing the cover work that has been left for them. There will be expectations that the successful Cover Supervisor will cover lessons across the subject and ability range so flexibility and confidence is essential.
It is essential that interested Cover Supervisors have previous experience working with children and young people. Behaviour management is also desired for this position.

Estates Officer
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Estates Officer on a 6 month Fixed Term Contract to ensure that the academy functions safely and effectively on a daily basis. The role is customer focused and is key to ensuring that all estates and facilities services are available and fit for purpose at all times. As a member of the Estates Team, the Estates Officer is expected to always set and maintain high professional standards and support the academy leaders and the Estates Cluster Supervisor and the wider Estates Team in delivering both an outstanding service to our customers and the vision of the Trust. Whilst being based in a ‘home’ academy the Estates Officer maybe required to work and support other academies within the cluster and regions

Exams, Data and MIS Officer
We are seeking to appoint an Exams, Data & MIS Officer at Darwen Aldridge Community Academy. The aim of the role is to Support the senior leadership team and staff in implementing a vision for excellence by providing a level of service to all stakeholders. You will also provide a high standard of strategic and operational support for internal and external exams; collection, collation and analysis of data; maintenance and upkeep of the school MIS.

IT Technical Support Apprentice
We are looking to recruit an IT Technical Support Apprentice who is a hardworking, organized individual with flexibility and a willingness to learn. The IT Technician will work closely with IT Team to provide management of IT services and general IT support, to supply technical help to ensure smooth operations.

Payroll & Finance Officer
We are seeking to appoint a payroll & Finance Officer. The aim of the role is to support the Financial Controller and be responsible for a payroll administration service for the schools in the Northwest cluster in close liaison with the payroll service provider.
You will also provide advice and support for other payroll team members as required in other clusters. This includes ad-hoc payroll queries and support when major changes to payroll as required.
