Ziggy Shipper Visits

In March 2011, staff, students and visitors to the Academy were very fortunate to be part of an audience which listened to the account of holocaust survivor, Mr Ziggy Shipper. Speaking to a full audience, Mr Shipper briefly discussed the circumstances around him arriving in Auschwitz before moving on to discuss how the Holocaust has affected his subsequent life. All who listened were moved to hear how fortunate Mr Shipper felt in surviving the Holocaust. Students were encouraged to participate and ask Mr Shipper questions on his experience. DACA was very privileged to have played host to such an inspirational character and we thank Ziggy for his time.
