Why Teaching?

I believe that we craft our jobs to best utilise our strengths. In almost every job I ever held, I managed to incorporate a teaching element. Over time, I realised that teaching was the most enjoyable part of my work and after receiving excellent feedback, I decided that I wanted to leave the business world and start teaching as a profession.

I am a passionate supporter of regeneration and DACA is a key partner in improving Darwen and ensuring it has a bright and prosperous future. One of the key factors to ensuring that regeneration is successfully achieved is the development of education and the delivery of new skill sets into the local area. The entrepreneurial ethos of the Academy is producing young people who are confident and determined to contribute to the future success of the town.

Outside of school you will mostly find me…

Watching the most successful small town team in the world (Blackburn Rovers).

Something you didn’t know about me:

I used to collect vintage Adidas trainers and at one stage I had over 100 pairs.
