On New Year’s Day 28 students and 4 staff embarked upon a fantastic adventure to the Aosta Valley in Italy. There were 6 Snowboarders and 22 Skiers that challenged the picturesque piste’s of the Pila Ski Resort.
Each day the students worked alongside advanced instructors and developed their skills and understanding of skiing and snowboarding.
Amber Gemmell from Year 7 won the award for the ‘Most Improved Skier/Snowboarder’, Nicole Bury from Year 7 won the award for the ‘Best Attitude’, Zac Hargreaves from Year 7 won the award for the ‘Most Dedicated’ and finally Joseph Kent won the ‘Wipe-out’ award for the best and most frequent ‘wipe-outs’.
The Apres-Ski Programme was equally as entertaining where Chritian Holt demonstrated his Ice-Skating Moonwalk, Valerie Thomas, Holly Ballentyne, Nick Harrop and Khushna Sulaman-Butt owned the dancefloor at the disco and the full party of students enjoyed all they could eat at the ‘Unlimited Pizza’ night.
All of the students were outstanding ambassadors for the Academy and received recognition and praise from the Instructors, Coach Drivers, Hotel Staff and Academy Staff. Jade Johnson and Ellie Kershaw described the trip as “the best holiday ever” and are already talking about next year’s trip. Bring on Ski Aosta 2013.
