Aldridge Foundation Global Entrepreneurship Week Competition
On the 16th November, as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, all of Years 8 and 9 participated in an event that challenged pupils to use all the key entrepreneurial attributes in a realistic business scenario competition.
Pupils worked in groups and each Aldridge academy began the competition simultaneously. Pupils had to create entrepreneurial solutions to challenges in the school or local area and then bring them to life. Over the course of the day pupils worked in teams to generate ideas about how to tackle various issues, finalised their project idea and came up with a plan of how they would carry out their project. The pupils were assisted by 6th form Career Academy pupils.
Pupils had to create a stand displaying their team name and code, poster, plan and possible prototypes which were shown to visiting members of the community in the afternoon. The visitors then voted for their favourite stands. All the teams put a tremendous amount of effort into the challenge but one team had to win and the winning teams idea was well thought out and presented. The winning team are pictured. The winning teams from each academy then came together in central London where they showcased their ideas to each other.
