The Geography department have been creative and taking risks in lessons recently - Miss Fletcher’s Year 9 students built model volcanoes and took them outside to watch them explode, lava and rocks spilling out. In the Geography classrooms work on the Amazon rainforest has led students in Year 8 to create enormous rainforest displays across the windows with tropical trees, creepers and vines, and Amazon animals (including a twenty foot long python).
History students will soon be starting work on a plan with Graham and Brown to improve the towpath of the Leeds-Liverpool canal through Blackburn. Students will research local buildings and history and then co-design a website that QR codes embedded into the canal will link to.
