Darwen Aldridge Football Academy is a programme available for sixth form students at the Academy to develop their skills, play competitive fixtures and undertake a programme of academic study through A-Level and/or BTEC courses.  The Academy players train regularly through the week and compete in regional and national competitions against other colleges and sixth forms.  We are delighted to formalise a partnership with Clitheroe FC and we believe that this will be instrumental in future development and successes of both ourselves and the football club.

I spoke with Simon Haworth earlier in the season to discuss the possibility of a partnership and he was really positive about it.  He was eager to express the importance of an academy at a football club and we believe that we can support the development of our students and produce players capable of making the step into first team football. Our programme is really unique in respect that the first team manager/coaching staff will be coaching the boys through structured training sessions and fixtures throughout the season. The Academy structure allows continuity from the youth teams into the first team and with the wealth of experience that Simon Haworth brings we believe this partnership can go from strength to strength.
