Ever year here at Darwen Aldridge Community Academy we hold a huge fundraising event for breast cancer and this year the proceeds are going towards Knock Out Cancer and Dress For Cancer. So what better a way than to get the local community involved in the fundraising than inviting local primary schools to our very own premiere of Disney’s ‘Frozen’. As well as showing parents and children the film we also sold cups of confectionary and popcorn lovingly made by the team behind the event.
We made a fantastic and surprising profit of £426.91 from confectionary, drink and ticket sales with a turnout of over 130 people. A massive thank you to all that attended, the team of students behind the event, staff involved and all the local primary schools and parents for attending. The event was a great success with great feedback from parents and children with lots of happy smiling faces.
We donated all the money raised from the event to the Pink Passion presents – ‘Dressed to Kill Cancer’ and ‘Knock Out Cancer’ charity event budget.
