“I can’t believe that I am going to Uni! I can’t thank my teachers enough; I will be the first in my family to go to University.”

Jess is going to Edge Hill Uni in Ormskirk to study Childhood and Youth studies, and Criminology.

Katie will go to UCLan in Preston to study for a degree in Social Work. She says her ambition is based on her experiences visiting social enterprises when the Sixth Form visited New York in 2009. Katie added “I can’t believe I am going to University! It doesn’t feel real! I can’t thank the Academy enough!”.
Keri has also secured a place at UCLan to study a degree in Police and Criminal Investigation and said “University didn’t even cross my mind before entering the Sixth Form! I couldn’t have had better teachers or better support to achieve this, I am so happy!”.

Dom secured his place at Lancaster University to read mathematics and said:

“I am so happy I achieved an A* in maths, I don’t think my teachers could have done any more to help me!”

James plans to go to University in 2012, but will make full use of his gap year having secured a place in the prestigious Greater Manchester Volunteer Corps.
